Liquorice or Licorice is the root of Glycyrrhiza glabra from which a sweet flavour can be extracted. The liquorice plant is a herbaceous perennial legume native to the Middle East, southern Europe, Turkey and parts of Asia, such as India and Nepal. Licorice powder is ideally for making into a tea on its own or mixing with other herbs to improve the flavour. To make into a tea just pour boiling water onto 1/2 teaspoon of powder,(quantity will vary to your palate) or root stick or sticks, give a good stir and leave to cool. You might need to re-stir before drinking. A lovely sweet licorice taste and aroma which is quick and easy to make. Liquorice/ Licorice root sticks are Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten free and dairy free.
